Kevin Day
Kevin Day is a stand-up comedian and writer, with a career spanning several decades, including writing with and for Bob Monkhouse, Ronnie Corbett, and Dave Allen. To date, Kevin writes on several hit panel shows – among them HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU (BBC), 8 OUT OF 10 CATS (C4), THE MASH REPORT (BBC), THE LAST LEG (C4) and A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN (Sky 1) – as well as a host of other programmes, ranging from the BBC SPORTS PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR to CHILDREN IN NEED.
Kevin’s sports specialty spread to his presenting work too, including spots on BBC2’s MATCH OF THE DAY 2, and as a regular voice on Radio 4 and part of BBC 5 Live’s coverage of the Cheltenham Festival, which won a Sony Gold Award. His first book WHO ARE YA?: 92 FOOTBALL CLUBS AND WHY YOU SHOULDN’T SUPPORT THEM was published by Bloomsbury in 2020. His second book UNFIT & IMPROPER PERSONS: AN IDIOTS GUIDE TO OWNING A FOOTBALL CLUB was published by Bloomsbury in 2023.
Kevin has also won the Time Out Comedy Award, a Writers’ Guild award (for his work with Dave Allen), been nominated for a BAFTA Television Craft Award (for A League Of Their Own in 2016) and, the one he is most proud of – the 2007 ProMax award for Best Interstitials, for a series of Christmas promos on More4 featuring a very grumpy Santa.
